Haven't had to wear a suit to work for a while now, we went business casual earlier this year - now every cunt has brown shoes on (including me)

No branded, I wasn't having a pop at you. It was just an amusing article I saw the other week.
not sure what's anal about offering someone advice, do you disagree with anything I posted just then??
p.s. always get a second pair of trousers as strides will always wear more than a jacket.

Re: Suits

You see so many people in the City wearing ill fitting suits. Either too broad on across the shoulders, too long on the sleeves, too much room, trousers too long etc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a cheaper suit and spending a bit getting it altered by a good tailor so it fits perfectly. If you have the time to wait you can get some half decent suits made to measure. You generally get your measurements taken and the suit is made abroad, then shipped over for final fittings and further alterations until it fits perfectly. Obviously the pinnacle is a fully bespoke suit, this takes some time and will cost a lot but the quality and cut will be worth it and, if taken care of, should last you for years as long as you have enough suits to rotate if you wear them daily. hanging your jacket on a good quality cedar wood hanger and brushing it after every wear will also prolong it's life, as will brushing your trousers and using proper trousers hangers that grip the cuff off the trouser and hang them upside down to help creases fall out. NEVER use a trouser press.

Holland Esquire is my main man. My go to when it comes to sartorial. Miles better than Paul Smith.

Exactly.... why follow the herd, I like a nice full on double breasted suit (no double entendre!) at the moment with wide lapels.... and when they come back into fashion (as they surely will) I will probably revert to single breasted.... obnoxious twat that I am.

Re: Suits

Dont see how you can buy a whistle on line, really need to try it on, quite often small alterations are needed regards sleeve length, trousers are usually unfinished so need to be pinned up for length. Take someone with you so you can check the fit across the back and shoulders.
